# Native builds

> Build an Android APK or an iOS simulator app in the cloud, without a Mac.

When you want an app you can install, not just preview, Appnetic builds it natively with EAS, Expo's cloud build service. You don't need a Mac, Xcode or an Expo account.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Native builds are part of the Pro and Team plans, which are coming soon.

## Start a build

**1. Get to a working version**

Builds use your current version, and it has to be **working**. Broken versions can't be built.

**2. Pick a platform**

Click **Build** in the top bar and choose:

* **Android**: an APK you can install on any Android phone.
* **iOS**: a simulator build, which runs in Xcode's iOS Simulator on a Mac.

**3. Wait a few minutes**

The build runs in the cloud and usually takes several minutes. You can keep working with the agent in the meantime.

When it finishes, a card in the chat has the download and, for Android, a QR code to install it on your phone. If a build fails, the card shows the error, with **Fix with AI** and **Build again**. Starting the same build twice just shows the one already running.

See [Install your app on an Android phone](https://tryappnetic.com/guides/install-your-app-on-android) for a walkthrough.

## What builds cost

Native builds come with the paid plans: Pro includes 3 a month and Team 15. After that, each build costs 10 credits. The Free plan doesn't include native builds; preview your app in Expo Go instead. Pro and Team aren't on sale yet, so [join a waitlist](https://tryappnetic.com/pricing) to hear when they open. See [Credits & plans](https://docs.tryappnetic.com/credits-and-plans.md).

## Publishing to the stores

Signed App Store builds and submitting to the App Store and Google Play from Appnetic are what we're building next.
